How google got its name?????

Google derived its name from the word \"googol\", a term coined by then nine-year-old Milton Sirotta, nephew of the American mathematician Edward Kasner. The story goes, Kasner had asked his nephew to invent a name for a very large number - ten to the power of one hundred (the numeral one followed by 100 zeros), and Milton called it a googol. The term was later made popular and in Kasner's book, Mathematics and the Imagination, which he co-authored wtih James Newman. Later, another mathematician invented the term \"googolplex\", which represents ten to the power of a googol - a substantially larger number.

History of Google:-

In 1995, Google's founding partners Larry Page and Sergey Brin met as students at Stanford University, where they began to collaborate on a search engine called BackRub. As this highly promising project developed, the two students managed to attract investors, and Google Inc. opened for business on September 7, 1998 in Menlo Park, California - like many promising IT companies, in a sublet garage. The company grew rapidly, along with site traffic, and in 1999 Google was named in Time magazine's Top Ten Best Cybertech list.

In recent years, Google has introduced a host of useful new features and products, including Google AdWords pay-per-click service, AdSense, the Google toolbar, and Froogle, a shopping search service first launched in December 2002. Finally, in 2004, the company went public, using an innovative electronic auction program to sell initial shares.

CPU+GPU = APU

U may be thinking its a formula but its a new type of processors launched by AMD for the first............

AMD has launched in India the accelerated processing unit (APU) range of fusion microprocessors. The APU combines central processing and graphics processing capabilities into a single chip and brings a supercomputer-like performance to notebooks, netbooks and all-in-one desktops.AMD has introduced the new E-series ‘Zacate’, and C-series ‘Ontario’ APUs that use the Bobcat CPU core. The new APUs offer DirectX 11 graphics, UVD3 video acceleration, 1080p HD playback, 2D conversion to 3D and up to 10hrs battery life depending on system.

“People have high expectations from their daily Internet experience compared to what was required a few years back. The AMD APU has been designed, keeping in mind that watching high-definition videos, uploading photos and playing games are a huge part of an Internet experience,” says Manju Hegde, corporate VP, Fusion Experience Program.

Hegde feels GPUs were underutilised by being used only for games and not for mainstream applications. The AMD APU that combines the GPU and CPU, has been designed to enhance Internet browsing, high-definition video and games. “The kind of super computing which required 50 watt systems can now be done on 9 watt systems. This also means you can carry around your games on your netbook,” Hegde noted.

AMD also promises to increase battery efficiency with its fusion APUs. “The power-saving features of the chip design enable your battery to last for over 10 hours, even while enjoying HD content,” claimed Ravi Swaminathan, MD and regional VP, AMD India . “Moreover, the temperature is kept cool with a thermal envelope,” he added.

AMD’s research and development (R&D) teams in Hyderabad and Bengaluru led the design of the new family of chipsets. AMD is also planning to launch its A-series, which would enable 500 gigaflops of computing power.

Rajahmundry - a historic river city

Greatness of rajahmundry a historic city:
RAJAHMUNDRY:
Rajahmundry is very famous for its holy river Godavari, its the fifth largest river in India. Here people at Rajahmundry are very friendly, approximately the population here is 6 lakhs.

History :
Rajahmundry was previously known as Raja Mahendri or Raja Mahendravaram, it was the first capital of many known TeluguKingdoms. The Chalukya ruler Raja raja Narendra ruled this city around 1022. The city has traces of 11th century fine palaces and fort walls. The archeological evidence suggests that the city may have existed far before the Chalukyas. The original name underwent a gradual metamorphosis with the name changed to Rajahmundry during the British rule.
Rajahmundry is located at 16.98° N 81.78° E. with an average elevation of 14 metres (45 feet).
Rajahmundry has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy being 74%, and female literacy 66%. 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
The biggest attraction in Rajahmundry is River Godavari. The two bridges are the most attractive long bridges found in Andhra Pradesh. There are many beautiful ghats and parks on the river bank.
Sir Arthur Cotton had great plans for Rajahmundry but he decided to build a dam in Dowleswaram due to its proximity to a hill that suited his purpose. The dam consisted of four divisions: Dowleswaram Division, Ryali Branch Division, Madduru division and Vijeswaram division. This was in all 900 yards (800 m) long and 9 feet (3 m) high. It was a great moment in the life of this great man to achieve this rare feat. The Godavari lost a lot of its fury and was able to generate fourfold revenue through irrigation andGodavari district suddenly jumped from being a poor district to one of the richer ones, second only to Tanjore. Asia's largest rail-cum-road bridge on the river Godavari linking Kovvur and Rajahmundry is considered to be an engineering feat. The Dowleswaram bridge across the Godavari is seven kilometres south of Rajahmundry. Rallabandi SubbaRao museum has an amazing collection of artifacts including coins, sculpture, pottery, inscriptions and palm-leaf manuscripts.
It is also one of the Hindu piligrimages. There are a number of temples here like the Kotilingalu (10 million Sivalingas) temple on the bank of the river Godavari. The city hosts holy congregations called the Pushkaram that takes place only once in every 12 years, which brings together millions of people from all over the country to take a holy dip in the river. It generally lasts for 12 days and people over prayers and make offerings to their departed family members.
A huge temple has been constructed by the ISKCON foundation on the banks of Godavari. Popularly called as Gowthami Ghat, it is a major attraction for young population as a recreational center.
Papi Hills and its surroundings located near Rajahmundry is a visual treat to the spectators. There is a village called Perantala Palli on papi hills, which is visited by every person who goes there, because of its beautiful waterfall. Another spot isPattiseema. Pattiseema is known for its natural beauty. Many film shootings on R.Godavari happen here. It is also a belief that films shot in this location will be a hit. And Pedapatnam Lanka is a beautiful place. It is called as Konaseema which lustres with greenery. Many places in konaseema are rich sources of oil and natural gas.
Rajahmundry is a centre for business point, as there are many villages near by it and they come to town Rajahmundry for any purchases, you can find information about Rajahmundry Stores, Rajahmundry Shopping Malls, Rajahmundry any business related activities.
